ARTESIA BOULEVARD STREETSCAPE

The ambitious Artesia Boulevard Improvement Project was completed in Winter of 2003, creating a whole new look for North Redondo Beach. Improvements to the Boulevard include Streetscape and Landscape Beautification from Aviation Boulevard to Hawthorne Boulevard, including new landscaping in the medians, wayfinding signage, bus shelters, parkway landscaping and pedestrian seating areas; a number of landscaped “bowouts,” which will extend the sidewalk and create areas for shady outdoor seating; Signalization Improvements from Aviation Boulevard to Inglewood Avenue, including the addition of 5 new left-turn signals permitting U-turns; and resurfacing of the Boulevard from Pacific Coast Highway to Hawthorne Boulevard.
